A great turnout and high levels of interest accompanied the participation of the University of Parma’s Healthcare Master’s programmes in the 2025 European Researchers’ Night, held on September 26. The event—organized by the University of Parma in collaboration with the Municipality of Parma and IMEM-CNR—turned the city into an open-air laboratory, offering activities, experiments, and demonstrations designed to bring people of all ages closer to the world of scientific research.
Among the initiatives organized by the Healthcare Master’s programmes, coordinated by Professor Antonio Bonacaro, two highly educational and engaging experiences stood out:
• A workshop on artificial intelligence applied to healthcare contexts, led by Dr. Mauro Parozzi, which invited participants to reflect on the potential and limitations of AI in clinical practice and professional training;
• A cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) marathon, conducted by the Master’s teaching and tutoring nursing staff, which drew a large number of visitors.
The CPR workshop sparked great curiosity and engagement: guided by experts, participants had the opportunity to practice chest compressions on training manikins, learning about the “chain of survival” and the importance of prompt intervention in emergency situations.
As the organizers explained, “the main goal was to spread basic knowledge about resuscitation and raise awareness of the importance of taking action. The response was extraordinary: a steady flow of people, enthusiasm, and active participation.”
The experience highlighted the crucial role of healthcare education and scientific outreach in building an informed and engaged society. Once again, the University of Parma’s Healthcare Master’s programmes reaffirmed their commitment to promoting a culture of health, innovation, and social responsibility through educational experiences open to the community.
